Right place at the right time
By Patrick Byes
I believe there are no good photographers, it is all about being in the right place at the right time to get that perfect shot.
Last Monday I woke up an hour earlier than I usually do to get some exterior shots of Billy Hebert Field.
When Richard Reyes and I went to the park to initially get our story going, it was in the heat of midday, and the light from the blistering sun was but all no good for some good warm pictures of the park. One thing I was able to do was to scope out different shots and angles of the park with the given right light, would make for a good picture. So that’s exactly what I did last Monday on my own before the day began. I was able to get a good set of pictures to choose from.
Last week in class we went over editing video in Adobe Premiere Pro Creative Cloud, taking audio from that editing software and further editing with Adobe Audition. Most of the basic form of editing was a good review from my experience with working those editing softwares. I did learn what ripple delete and bottom thirds are by our lectures in class this week. When I say learn, I mean I finally got a term for something that I already knew of, but didn’t know the correct term to call it by.
In the coming weeks I am going to work with Richard and get access to Stockton Arena for a photo shoot and interviews with the people that are important to the arena, furthermore we going to contact the owners of Billy Hebert Field for an interview. I’m also currently working on a timeline of important events that have happened over the years at the different sports locations we are covering, stay tuned!
